Fresno Coin Gallery, Jewelry & Loan held a special 2-week buying event to benefit Fresno County Schools. The benefit was held from Monday, March 29 through Saturday, April 10, 2010, in appreciation of 28 years as the premier gold buyer in the Central Valley! We continued to give our customers 100 percent of the high rates we already pay for gold jewelry, and on top of that, we donated an additional 10 percent to the Fresno County School of our customer's choice.
Just before our event was launched, Mayor Ashley Swearingen issued an Official Letter on behalf of the community and extending her own "sincere gratitude to all who will be participating" in our fundraiser.
A press conference was organized to kickoff the event on Monday, March 29. In support of our efforts, Larry Powell, Superintendent of Fresno County Schools, and Lorenzo Neal, former NFL and Fresno State Bulldog football star spoke at our press conference.
We were also privileged to have Councilmember Henry Perea in our store one week into our event on Friday, April 2, to update the community on how our fundraiser was going. We are very thankful for their involvement and support with our fundraiser, and appreciate the wonderful deeds they have all achieved in this community!
We raised $ 38,233.90 for over 250 Fresno County Schools hand-picked by our customers.
Following the event, the City of Fresno and Mayor Ashley Swearingen recognized our efforts and decided to proclaim April 22, 2010 as Fresno Coin Gallery Day!
We also received hundreds of thank you letters from Fresno County Schools. We want to pass on a special THANK YOU to all of our customers for participating and making this event a success!!!
